Dinosaur Jr. – Wellfleet
-The worst/best 24 hours-
So it all starts off with what would seem like a normal skate trip. I’m getting stuff together; camera (check), board (check), call douche-bag friends to make sure they are up (check), map out directions (check), etc… WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN, the worst splitting headache, vertigo, and vomiting occur. I’m dying I think to myself. I’m having a brain aneurism, great, now I’m going to be a nincompoop just like Adam. In shear distraught-panic I stumble to an emergency room (10:00 am). I am bombarded with all sorts of nonsensical questions and around 10:30am, Mike, Adam, Ezra and Jad arrive at the hospital. I get a CT Scan (negative – no bleeding of the brain) and then a Spinal-Tap (negative – no abnormal amount of white blood cells). Conclusion: intense migraine (6:00pm – yes, that’s right 8hrs later).
At 7:00pm Jad and I drive down to Wellfleet to meet the rest of the crew, just in time to see the show!!!
We decided after the show to party and sleep on the beach, why not?!
Woke up to this sunrise and seals swimming by. Absolutely incredible.
After the show, Jad had fallen down a dune-cliff and went swimming in the ocean. Turns out water and cool temps don’t mix, he nearly froze to death in the middle of the night. Luckily for Jad, Ezra actually cares about him, and takes him to a car so that he doesn’t freeze.
At around 6:30am we go swimming at Great Pond and enjoy some sudz.
At around 8:30am we skate the Wellfleet Skatepark to cap off the day.
This will definitely go down in the books as one of the most memorable trips.
